Shayne House Studio

About

I'm a photographer and filmmaker living and working in Cornwall. My studio practice explores the relationship between imagery and narrative, creating work that spans personal projects and collaborative works with purpose-led brands, projects and non-profits.

Commercially, I’ve collaborated with The Eden Project, The Do Lectures, Dove’s Self-Esteem Project, Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Cornwall, The Wave Bristol, KEO Films & The BBC, RefuAid, StreetVet and Transformation Food Banks, to name a few.

Notable creative collaborations and submissions include Historic England's 'Picture Lockdown' documentation project, Roger and Brian Eno's acclaimed 'Mixing Colours' audio-visual project, and Art4Bail's socially conscious 'Bail Project'. My work has also featured as cover art for the singer-songwriter Bryde's single 'Less'.

My background includes early experience working with Jacques Cousteau's Paris-based La Spirotechnique, as well as working with surf brands such as Balin Australia, Cornwall's Snugg Wetsuits, Gul, Bilbo Surfboards, Wavehunters and a stint at Newquay's legendary indie surf shop, Revolver. This experience shaped my love for surfing, the sea and environmental themes, which run through much of my work.

This connection to the ocean is reflected through projects like my film "Handplane to Rivermouth," which celebrates sustainable surf culture and was shortlisted and screened at the inaugural London Surf Film Festival at Riverside Studios, followed by a screening at Boardmasters in the National Trust's chillout tent.

My artwork has been exhibited internationally in galleries across the UK, China and the Metaverse, demonstrating my commitment to reaching diverse audiences through multiple platforms.

I maintain an active dialogue about my studio practice and occasional brand storytelling insights through regular writing on Substack︎︎︎︎︎︎.
