This series was shot at Fistral Beach on 35mm slide film, cross-processed for vibrant, unpredictable colour shifts, then overpainted with acrylics in my studio.

The paint doesn't sit on top of the photograph. It merges with it. Some areas are obscured, some enhanced. The two mediums become inseparable, creating a tension between what's captured and what's made.

The result is something between photography and painting: a layered surface where colour, texture and gesture reshape the original image into something more fluid and abstract.
