Vulpes vulpes

This 44" × 29" photograph was created for the Cruel & Curious Nocturne Art Exhibition at a National Trust property, where nature's beauty exists alongside practices that threaten it.

The image reflects on the fox as both symbol and target. For years, trail hunting served as cover for illegal fox hunting, hiding cruelty behind tradition and sport. Two years after this exhibition, in November 2021, trail hunting was finally banned on National Trust land.

The work questions our relationship with this misunderstood animal and the ethics of how we treat wildlife. It's a call to awareness and a push for compassion over cruelty.
