Three Light Window • Analogue X Digital Collection

The Analogue X Digital series explores the intersection of two photographic worlds: the ephemeral instant Polaroid and the precision of digital photography.

Through a meticulous process of deconstruction, I cut away the Polaroid’s frame and peel back its black backing, revealing its delicate emulsion. This fragile layer is lifted in warm water and then in cold water, it is placed onto a digital print of the same subject. The juxtaposition of analogue and digital, both captured in time but brought together through this transformative process, questions the ubiquity and accessibility of photography today.

In an age where digital images flood our lives, this series slows down the photographic process. It highlights the tactile nature of analogue photography while grounding it in the crisp clarity of the digital. The emulsion’s fragility, manipulated by hand, brings an element of chance, imperfection, and texture to an otherwise sharp digital image, creating a hybrid artwork that is neither fully analogue nor fully digital. The square format reinforces a sense of intimacy and nostalgia, while the visual layering speaks to the complexity of our relationship with technology and memory.

By merging two identical images, the work asks us to reconsider what it means to capture a moment - where the tactile and the ephemeral collide, forming something entirely new.

Elevate your interiors with Analogue X Digital, a unique art series that merges the tactile beauty of Polaroid with the precision of digital photography. Ideal for art collectors and design enthusiasts, this collection explores the intersection of analogue and digital, blending the nostalgia of Polaroid’s delicate emulsion with the sharp clarity of digital imagery. Each piece undergoes a careful process of lifting the Polaroid’s fragile emulsion and overlaying it onto a digital print of the same subject, creating a layered, hybrid artwork that is neither fully analogue nor fully digital.

This series invites viewers to slow down and appreciate the textures, imperfections, and depth often lost in the digital age, making it a thoughtful addition to any interior that values art with a story. The square format and hand-manipulated emulsion create a sense of intimacy, grounding modern spaces with a touch of nostalgia.
