Pollenize Apiaries

In the City of Plymouth, Pollenize - through the help of crowdfunding - has created a network of community backed research apiaries (beehives) stocked with European Dark Honey Bees. This is to extend and conserve the populations of our threatened native dark honey bee. 

Local artists, groups and schools were invited to decorate the hives. Sarah Smalldon’s hive will reside on top of the Theatre Royal Plymouth.
