Light Leaks
Light Leaks is a series that captures the delicate balance between intention and chance, inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi.
Each image is shot on 35mm film, intentionally exposed to light entering the back of the camera. This exposure results in vibrant streaks of light and color that some might deem imperfections or flaws - yet these very elements are what breathe life into the photographs.
In this collection, I invite viewers to reconsider the concept of beauty. The interplay of unexpected colors and patterns invites an appreciation for the spontaneous nature of the creative process, echoing the Wabi-Sabi ideals of embracing imperfection and the transient.
These photographs celebrate the uniqueness of each moment, urging us to find joy in what is often overlooked. Light Leaks challenges the traditional notions of perfection, encouraging us to embrace the serendipity of life and recognise that sometimes, what may appear as a flaw can reveal the most profound beauty.
