Colours of Spring
In my series Colours of Spring, I explore the vibrant transformation that accompanies the shift from winter to spring - a season that never fails to astound with its burst of life and colour.
Shot on 35mm Kodak Ektachrome E100 slide film, I deliberately used cross-processing, a technique where film is developed in chemicals intended for a different type of film. This process amplifies the hues, creating an intense, surreal palette that mirrors the natural world’s own vibrant awakening.
The rich saturation and unexpected tones echo the feeling of renewal, the boldness of colour emerging from the muted landscape of winter, and the sense of hope that comes with longer days and warmer air.
The film, with its unique imperfections, allows me to capture not only the physical beauty of this season but also the emotional vibrancy that Spring ignites - a vivid reminder that change is a constant, and beauty often lies in the transitions.
