Blue Mind
If you've ever felt more peaceful interacting with water, you've experienced Blue Mind.
This series uses intentional camera movement to transform ocean waves into flowing, abstract forms. By panning horizontally with slow shutter speeds and colour filters, I blur the boundary between sea, sky and shoreline.
The work is inspired by marine biologist Wallace J. Nichols' research on how water affects our well-being. These images aren't meant to document the coast but to evoke the meditative state water puts us in: soft, rhythmic, borderless.
Each photograph captures the constant movement of the sea while creating something still and contemplative. In a world of overstimulation, they're an invitation to pause and reconnect with the blue spaces that calm us.
“They are simply beautiful, and evoke everything it is that I love about the sea... it's feel, sight, sound and smell. Amazing that you can do that without someone having to actually go there.” ~ Anna Koska, Artist & Writer.
